Zoes Opens its Doors in Memphis

Restaurant looks to expand over the next two years.

Memphis, TN (March 18, 2004) - Zoë's Kitchen is coming to downtown Memphis. The restaurant, set to open the week of March 22, is located on the corner of Main and Monroe in Brinkley Plaza.

Zoë's Kitchen specializes in quick-serve casual lunches prepared with all fresh ingredients. Popular choices range from the Grilled Chicken Roll-Up with feta and caramelized onions to a classic Greek salad. Other favorites include homemade chicken salad, egg salad, tuna salad and pimento cheese. Zoë's signature marinated slaw is made with scallions and feta cheese and Zoë's famous homemade dressing.

There is a Protein Power Plate for Atkins Diet fans and the menu also contains five Heart Fresh Meals that adhere to the American Heart Association standards for a heart healthy diet.

"We are excited about coming into downtown Memphis, and plan to expand throughout the city over the next few years," says owner Davis Lee. "Our Monroe Avenue location should prove popular for catering corporate lunches and meetings."

Store hours are 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. Lunch will be served, and customers can pick up take-home chicken dinners until 4:00 P.M. with 90-minute advance notice. Zoë's will also deliver chicken dinner to homes and businesses in the downtown area between 4:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M.

The restaurant will have seating for 58 people inside and additional patio seating for 10. All items on the menu are offered for catering. Box lunch items may be ordered for special events, parties, picnics and corporate meetings. Zoë's also features a Kids' Menu.

Zoë Cassimus opened the first Zoë's Kitchen in 1995 in Birmingham, Alabama. Her Greek inspired specialties quickly became popular and the restaurant concept expanded through the efforts of her son, John Cassimus. There are now Zoë's Kitchen locations in Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Destin, Nashville, and Phoenix.
